Oilers Win First Game of League Playoffs
The Petrolia Atom Rep Oilers got their League Playoffs started after a three week layoff without games and came out with a victory vs the South Kent Lightning.

The Oilers fell behind 1-0 midway through the first period but battled back to tie it up late in the first period.  The first period ended in a tie 1-1.   Andrew Jaques scored the first goal assisted by hardworking wingers Kolby Wilson and Owen Stokes.

South Kent scored the lone goal in the second period and took a 2-1 lead to the third.

The Oilers battled back with three straight goals in the third to carry a 4-2 lead to the final minutes of the game when South Kent scored another to make it 4-3.  Scoring in the third for the Oilers was Andrew Jaques with two and Zach Wilson with a spinning backhander from his knees.   Assisting Jaques' second goal was Stanley MacDonald.  Assisting Wilson's goal was Jace McGrail and Noel Sanderson.

Noah Bright played well in net and said, "it feels weird to finally be able to see the puck" as he wore his contact lenses for the first time.  Great job Noah.

The Oilers are off to play the Predators in Forest at 3pm on Sunday in game two of the home and home round robin with(South Kent and Lambton Shores). The top two teams then advance on to play in the league final.

Go Oilers.
