Oilers Strike First in League Final
The Atom Rep Oilers drew first blood in the best of five series that opened yesterday at the Greenwood Rec Centre in Petrolia.  The hometown Oilers came out determined to have a good start and got that as they scored three times in the opening period on route to a 6-2 win.

Scoring in the first period was Andrew Jaques who scored all three goals to stake the Oilers to a 3-0 lead.  Zach Wilson and Owen Stokes picked up single assists.  The Oilers continued to keep pressing and scored twice more while allowing the Predators only on.  Owen Stokes deflected a Stanley MacDonald shot to make it 4-0 before the Predators got on the board.

Andrew Jaques would round out the scoring with two more unassisted goals to make it a 6-2 final.

Kento Gudz was stellar in the Oilers net and made some big saves when called upon.

The Oilers rolled three lines and all players competed hard and kept pucks in deep.

Game two is Tuesday in Forest at 7pm.
