Volunteer Opportunities


Please postdate the Cheques in the amount of $500.00 each for:  January 15, 2022 and April 15, 2022 and they are to be made out to PMHA. These Cheques are due November 15th, 2021 (subject to change)

Every family
, excluding the Beginner - Timbit families, will be required to Volunteer 12 hours of their time
(6 hours per cheque) toward your Volunteer Cheques.

**NEW**   Timbit families are new to our program and do not receive the ice time that the rest of our teams do.         They are now only required to Volunteer 6 hours of their time and hand in one Cheque per family.

There are many opportunities for you to Volunteer and the hours will go towards these cheques.

Teams Coaching Staff

Coach - Coach Clinic, Respect in Sports for Team Staff

Asst Coach - Coach Clinic, Respect in Sports for Team Staff
Trainer - Trainer Clinic, Respect in Sports for Team Staff

Asst Trainer - Trainer Clinic, Respect in Sports for Team Staff
Manager - only Respect in Sport for Team Staff is Needed

Parent Rep 

If you are interested in any of these positions, you need to get the required Boys/Girls certifications completed before the season starts. Please contact Jason Reidhead at [email protected] or 519-330-7565 to receive information on obtaining these. These positions go towards your cheque.  Once the Coaches are announced you can contact them and let them know that you are interested in helping with the team.

 Bingos

We have Bingos on a monthly basis.  The Bingo Assignments only last 2 hours.  You are required to take the Training course first. It last from 1-2 hours and these also go towards your cheques.  Please go to the Bingo tab under  Hockey Parents on our Website to find out more information about our Bingos.  NEW: PMHA HAS APPROVED THAT ALL TRAVEL FOR YOUR TRAINING AND VOLUNTEERING FOR A BINGO WILL NOW COUNT TOWARDS YOUR VOLUNTEER HOURS. YOU WILL BE CREDITED FOR 1 HOUR (HALF HOUR EACH WAY).

Penalty Box - (6 - 2 hr shifts)
Score Keeper/Announcer - (6 - 2 hr shifts)
Time Keeper - (6 - 2 hr shifts)

Admission Door - (6 - 2 hr shifts)
50/50 Draw/Raffle Table - (3 - 4 hr shifts)

Kitchen Staff - (3 - 4 hr shifts)

(These hours can range between 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 … to 4, please check what is being offered before signing up!  They change as needed).

Note:  The Silver Stick Committee asks that you be there 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
 ** PMHA does not recognize this time, it is too make sure that you show up for your scheduled shift.

When you are signing up, please make sure you are signing up for the right amount of shifts needed to complete your hours. When this is posted, some of these positions fill up FAST. These will be posted online the last week of November, first week of December and an email will be sent to you from your Parent Rep.

If other Volunteer Positions become available they will be posted on the Website and an email will be sent to you from your Parent Rep.  It is advised that you look at our Website on a regular basis so that you are informed and up to date of what is going on.

Each Volunteer opportunity will have a sign in sheet that you will need to complete and the Volunteer Coordinator will then forward this information to the Volunteer Cheque Coordinator who will record your hours worked.

It is ultimately up to you, as Parents to let the Volunteer Cheque Coordinator know what hours you have complete and how!! These hours are sometimes reported to the Coordinator!!!
