Oilers Tie Lancers in Lambeth
The Atom Oilers worked hard on route to a well earned hard fought 1-1 draw vs the North American Silverstick Champion Lambeth Lancers.  The game was a late start at 7:40pm and the boys came out determined to compete with the top team in the league.

Kento Gudz played arguably his best game of the season thwarting attempt after attempt and keeping the Oilers in the game.

The Oilers kept their penalty totals to 4 minutes, the lowest total of the season and was a fast skating end to end game.

Lambeth scored first on a high wrister through a screened Gudz and found the mesh over his right shoulder.

The Oilers tied the game with a goal by Andrew Jaques as he fished the puck out of a scramble and flipped the puck up alley-oop  style over a crowd of players and over a helpless goalie across the goal line.  Brady Melton and Reid King earned assists.

The Oilers played solid defense with William Hull, Noah Harse, Stanley MacDonald, and Liam Crummy making great pinches and rushes and getting pucks to the net from the point.

The Forechecking on the Dump and Chase by King, Melton, Jaques, Jace McGrail, Noel Sanderson,Owen Stokes, Zach Wilson, and Kolby Wilson.

Brightsy was a good cheerleader backing up Kento all game.

Oilers now play Lambeth again on Saturday at home and in Mt. Brydges on Sunday with a chance to advance on to the next round on the line.
