Petrolia 4 - Mooretown 3
In what hopefully will go down as the worst 1st period effort of this season the Oilers found themselves down 1-0 to the Jr. Flags.

The Oilers were not sure if it was the early start or the late practice the night before the 1st game of the Midget AE tournament in Mooretown but a total lack of effort will usually provide poor results. Cody Ewing stood on his head making save after save in the 1st frame as the Oil played most of the time in the defensive zone.

The second period the highly talented Oil woke up and started putting pressure on the Jr. Flags.  Dawson Feenstra scored Petrolia's first goal with a slapper from the point. Ryan Bell scored the go ahead goal on a nice move and snap shot.

The 3rd period started with Mooretown scoring to bring things even 2-2 on a shot from the top of the circle.
Jacob Friesen scored after some work done by Jaret Scarrow and no penalty call.
Mooretown showed determination scoring again to bring the game even 3-3 as again Petrolia struggle to play solid defensive zone hockey.
Chris Docherty scored on a wrist shot that the Jr. Flag goalie would love to get back as it dribbled across the goal line.
Petrolia managed to somehow hold onto the win but tried to give it away in the final second with the Mooretown goalie pulled.

So a win is a win and Petrolia will need another win in the next 2 games to move on to the finals as Sarnia tied Mooretown already.
Lets work hard and we will get the results we want.  GO OIL
