Petrolia 0 - Lambton Shores 1
In the semi final of the Tillsonburg tournament Petrolia would match up against the Lambton Shores Predators.

In round robin play Mt. Brydges and Tillsonburg were eliminated with Lambton Shores facing Petrolia in one semi-final and Ayr facing Ennismore in the other semi-final.

This would be the 4 game for all 4 teams in under 2 days.

Petrolia came out and took their speed and passing game to the Preds but once again came up against a very hot goalie.  The shot clock was not being operated for this game which was unfortunate as Petrolia out-chanced the Preds by 4 to 1 throughout this game.

Lambton Shores in near the top of the Shamrock league but actually has scored less goals than they have allowed.  They play a very defensive style and are opportunistic scoring on their opponents mistakes.

There was no scoring in the 1st or 2nd periods.  This game would be decided in the 3rd period or possibly overtime.
Petrolia continued to get scoring chance after scoring chance only to be denied by the Preds netminder.
With 2:38 remaining in the game Lambton Shores scored on a deflected shot.  Petrolia continued to press and get more chances in the final moments but could not find the answer.

Coach Bell congratulated the team afterwards for a great tournament and a significant improvement in effort and team play.  Losing a close game that meant going to the final is always tough.  Ayr ended up winning their semi final 5-0 and then the final 2-1 over Lambton Shores.

I am proud of the entire team and expect this level of play going forward.  Go Oilers Go.  Keep up the great work.

The Oil next play on Nov 16th at home to Ingersoll who they tied earlier this season.
