Petrolia 4 - South Kent 7
The South Kent Lightning showed up to vie for the outright lead in the Shamrock Midget AE/Minor league.

Petrolia has struggled in the first period in recent games and although the tempo was improved over past performances they managed to make a few mistakes that cost them dearly in the first period allowing the fast skating Lightning to gain a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Petrolia worked hard and were rewarded late in the first to bring the score to 2-1 going into the second.

The second period saw numerous chances with the same results, South Kent extending the lead to 4-2 going into the 3rd.

The 3rd period saw a much improved effort from the Oilers who scored to bring the game to within a goal twice but could not hold off the Lightning who scored it seemed on every Oilers mistake.

A frustrating loss to a team that is very good but Petrolia knows they were not at their best.

Jarret Scarrow scored 2 goals, Curtis Jackson scored on a nice move coming out of the corner and Ryan Bell continued to find the back of the net for the Oilers.

The Oilers are back in action tomorrow night hosting the Lambton Shores Predators.  Lambton has a solid team as they are also at the top of the league at this point in the season now tied with South Kent.  Petrolia needs to know that if their best effort is made from the opening puck drop and a few fewer errors are made during the game they will be able to compete with any team in the league this year.  It really is up to the guys to prove it.

Keep working guys, we will get there.
