Petrolia 1 Dochester 1
In the second game in as many nights the Oilers took to the ice. This night the Dragons from Dorchester were in town looking to upset the Oilers.
The Oilers with a win or tie would either gain 1st place outright or end up tied at the top of the Shamrock Midget AE division.
In the first period the Dragon Minor team came out and showed a great deal of speed scoring the 1st goal of the game. The Oilers seemed to get their game together after the first 5 minutes and start to gain momentum with more puck control and pressure from this point on and for the remainder of the game.
The Oilers had numerous scoring chances with odd mad rushes but found the Dragons goaltender equal to the task of shutting down the well Oiled scoring machine. Petrolia was able to draw even after killing numerous penalties with a goal from Ryan Bell.
The game ended up being a tie with both clubs giving a very good effort and playing a lot of excellent position hockey. Both goalies should be commended as they came up with saves when called to do so.
Great work guys and congrats on getting to the top of the league.
