In a day and age when you always hear the bad and the ugly....sometimes the Good is forgotten or marginalized. After a recent loss in the Tillsonburg Atom Rep Tournament, our post tournament write up applauded the skill and team work of the Tillsonburg Tornadoes as they defeated us handily to win the final. Tillsonburg returned the favour throwing praise our way as well in a recent article on their organization page. See attached article.

Sportsmanship Prevails
This past weekend, Tillsonburg Minor Hockey hosted our annual Roy Beechey Memorial Rep Minor Hockey Tournament. The event was a great success for the 30 participating teams, with three of our five rep teams claiming victory in the finals. Congratulations to all participants.
Following the event, a very commendable act of sportsmanship was committed, that we’d like to share with our membership. Our Atom Rep team played the hard working
Petrolia Oilers team in the finals. Shortly following completion of the game, the head coach for Petrolia published the following on their website:
“In the finals, let's just say......we were overmatched and outskilled and learned how team work and passing is supposed to work. Tillsonburg dazzled the Oilers with their speed and passing and solid positional play and bombarded the Oilers shift after shift. If it weren't for our Goalies Kento and Noah, the game could have easily been 10-0 or higher instead of the 7-0 final. Tillsonburg gets full credit for the victory and set the bar for all Atom teams including Petrolia on what level we aspire to get to.”
On behalf of the team and our organization, we wish to extend our sincere appreciation for the flattering account of the game and for the credit given to our team. We wish to outline that although it may be considered this Tillsonburg team is setting the bar for all Atom teams in terms of their play, we believe just as strongly that acts of such fine sportsmanship displayed through this article are indeed setting the bar for all in organized sport to strive for. We commend Petriolia for this, as this action is one of class and command respect. We wish Petrolia’s team continued success throughout this and upcoming seasons.
Congrats to both teams , players, parents and coaching staffs.
Petrolia Pride.
