Oilers Improve to 2 and 0 at MoTown Cup in Detroit
The Novice Oilers showed up early Saturday morning at the U of Michigan Dearborn Campus arena ready to take on perrennial rival Mooretown Storm.  The Oilers came out with a much better effort and had everyone working hard and skated hard until the final buzzer earning a 7 to 1 defeat.

Nathan Perry playing his best game in a while got the Oilers on the board on a goal in the first minute and was scored from sheer hard work and determination. Perry's goal was assisted by Logan Crummy and Zach Wilson.
Next shift, Will Hull darted down the right side and tucked in an unassisted marker to make it 2 to 0. The Oilers didn't quit there and kept pressuring the Storm when Logan Crummy was Johnny on the spot when Perry's shot bounced off the goalie and onto Crummy's stick for a gimme goal.  Oilers up 3 to0 after one period.

In period 2, Will Hull scored again on a sweet feed from Miller 'Malmute' Mailloux to make it 4 to 0.  Twenty seconds later Mooretown scored on breakaway to spoil Kento Gudz's shutout bid.

With the score 4 to 1 Jace McGrail intercepted a Storm pass and zig zagged down the ice and hit the top half of the net on a wrister to make it 5 to 1...Nate Perry earned an assist. Noel Sanderson scored the Oilers 6th goal from close range being in the right spot with his stick on the ice. Zach Wilson and McGrail earned assists.

With the final seconds winding down, the Oilers proved they were playing til the final buzzer as Reed Douglas scored a goal as the buzzer sounded to end the game and made it 7 to 1.  Hull and Maxim Egan earned assists.

Great effort boys, keep working towards our goal of making it to the finals tomorrow.

Yesterday Pheonix Timmington was selected player of the game and today Nathan Perry earned the honour.
It was arguably one of the most complete whole game efforts by the entire team.  You know what it takes and you did it.  Keep up
