Oilers Battle Rockets to a 4 - 4 Draw
The Oilers bounced back on Saturday to earn a hard fought 4 to 4 tie against the Strathroy Rockets at the Greenwood Rec Centre. Leading 2 to 1 heading to the third period, the Oilers were looking to seal the deal and ice the victory but Strathroy had other ideas.
Oilers goals came Zach Wilson assisted by Nathan Perry and Jace McGrail unassisted.
Heading to the third period, a pair of penalties took some momentum away and opened the door for Strathroy to mount a comeback. Strathroy would score three even-strength goals to take a 4 to 2 lead and put the pressure on the Oilers in the final 5 minutes of the game.
The Oilers responded with 2 goals by Jace McGrail in the final 3 and a half minutes. One goal was assisted by Brady Busby-McEachen and Reid King and the other was unassisted.
Kento Gudz got the win in net.
Hard hat winner was Jace McGrail with a hat trick.
The Oilers play a re-match vs St. Thomas tomorrow in Petrolia.
