Oilers Outworked in 6 to 3 Loss to St. Thomas
Hard Work beats skill when skill doesn't work hard....but on this Friday Night the Oilers didn't have enough hard workers to overtake a faster St. Thomas team.

From the opening face off, 10seconds in, the Oilers gave the puck away on a blind pass and found themselves down 1to 0 and it was an uphill battle the rest of the way. St.Thomas used their speed and shifty moves catching defensemen flat footed and rifled shots at will towards Oiler goalie Kento Gudz .

Down 2 to 0, Will Hull got a shot from the point through which hit something or someone (possibly Reid King) and bounced over the pads of the Stars goalie to make it 2to1.  Reid King was credited with the assist.

Down 5 to 1 in the third, the Oilers showed signs of life when Zach banged home a Hull feed to make it 5 to2.

Midway through the third, Jace McGrail pinched in the offensive zone and intercepted a clearing pass and got a shot off that found its way along the ice to the far corner to make it 5 to 3.  That would be as close as the Oilers would get as another turnover ended up in the net making it 6to3 final.

The Oilers did not play with the type of energy and work ethic that was evident in OMHA playoffs...but have a quick turnaround to rest and recover and come out and play Oiler hockey against Strathroy.

Come on Boys.....finish out strong...play the way you can!

Miller Mailloux was selected team hard hat recipient.  Congrats Miller.
