On behalf of the Petrolia "MacFarlane Chevrolet" Bantam Rep Hockey Team we are inviting you help us raise funds to support a member of our "hockey family" -the Lypko Family (Adam, Leanne, Jordan and Eric) through a very tough time.
On February 1, 2016 the family received terrible news, Leanne was diagnosed with cancer of the spine along with finding cancer in one lung. The condition has quickly confined Leanne to wheelchair and she is currently in London waiting on how she will be treated. The simple fact is that the prognosis is not good. The awful news about Leanne is also coupled with the fact that Adam has not been able to work or drive for past number of years due to a crippling and degenerative hip condition. Understandably, this is a heavy burden for the family. On a good note, Adam may be finally ready for his third hip replacement in the last few years.
The funds generated from this program will be used to: assist the family with the travel and potential overnight expenses to drive back and forth to London, help with meals for the boys and Adam, assist with any home maintenance that may be required, assist with any modifications required to allow the family to stay in their home and to allow the family the opportunity enjoy some great life experiences while they can.
You have to know this family to fully appreciate why they mean so much to us:
*They are extremely loving, caring people who are always positive regardless of what life throws at them. *They are genuine, salt-of-the-earth people who never complain and always have smiles on their faces.
*They are proud (and some would say stubborn) and rarely have asked for any help from anyome.
We are doing this:
1. Because we care
2. Because they deserve it
3. Because it is the right thing to do
We hope you find it in your heart to support the Lypko's, but if you can't or won't we all hope you can find sometime to say a prayer or think of the family at some point during your busy days.
