The Petrolia Atom TC Oilers bring home the local league championship victory at International Silver Stick with a 1-0 win in double overtime with a goal from Travis Wolfgram. Peyton Cudney blocked a penalty shot to defend his shut-out championship game. An extreme team effort and great parental support throughout the weekend kept the boys focused and strong in their efforts against strong competitors, Strathroy Jr Rocket. The coaching staff selected the "Bradford Blue & Gold Classic Tournament", which they knew would be a challenging round robin for the Oilers to surpass. They had not planned to be moved into the major division and face only Ottawa and GTA teams... but the boys would not be discouraged. They played with all they had- heart and soul. With the Oiler boys gearing up for the Bradford tournament this weekend, business needed to be taken care of first at home against the visiting Southwest Bullets. It didn't take the Oilers long with 3 goals in the first 1:30 of the game. With all cylinders running the Oilers attack was more than the Bullets could handle. The Oilers exploded with a 17-3 win. Good job boys. The Oilers are now off to the Bradford tournament where they will see 2 opponents from Ottawa and 1 from Oakville. Crowd attendance 115. Wesley Williams earned the hardest working slushie award.

With the Oilers trying to defend their undefeated season, the Dresden Jr. Kings came out flying. With some strong goaltending from the Oiler's goalie, the Oilers ended the period with a 2-1 lead. The Oilers found their skating and passing groove and took a 4-2 lead to the third period. With the Oilers exploding in the third with some fine passing they opened up a 6-2 lead, when no sooner the Jr. Kings battled back with 2 quick goals. The Oilers added one more to win the game 7-4. Great game boys and great back checking and passing. Next game is a biggie against Mooretown White.

The Oilers opened the season against the Southwest Bullets. With all cylinders running the Oilers came out flying with 12 goals in a 12-2 win. Pheonix Timmington and Gavin Carron led the attack with a hat trick each. On Sunday the Oilers hit the road to Mooretown. In a very intense physical game the Oilers jumped out to a 1-0 lead no sooner to see the Flags tie it up. Second period seen Carter Helps take over popping in 2 goals.
