Petrolia 5 Dorchester 2
To really rub salt in the wound.
Petrolia came out flying again with defence playing up and forwards playing back we put the screws to the chippy team from Dorchester. Ryan MacAlpine opened the scoring in the first period with some good forechecking from Dylan and Evan. Then Josh (Correction - Nick) scored and then the game went end to end our friend from Mooretown kept the game interesting calling mysterious headchecks. Ian Wheatley playing back was excellent as was the rest of our forwards Hayden dealt some good checks and Jaret cleared the puck for us as well Chris Docherty moved the puck well and had some scoring chances. After some sloppy play at the end of the second we found ourselves down three to two. But in the third Ryan Jakob and Josh kept the play in Dorchester's end and Jakob was able to tie the game up with a quick wrist shot then it got down to the nitty gritty with a Dorchester player hitting Josh with a crosscheck after the goal and it was game on Josh ended up tangling with two Dorchester players before Mr Nick Harris intervened and restored things back to their normal state. The game went back and forth and we got some solid hits from Edward, Dylan and Dawson before a clearing pass put Ryan Bell in the clear and Ryan wheeling past the last defender wristed a shot on net the goalie kicked out a nice juicy rebound to Evan who buried it for his second game winning goal. Is it obvious who is writing this dribble? Anyhow after more shenigans from both teams Evan was ejected for an altercation with a Dorchester player. So with the man advantage Dorchester pulled their goalie and tried to tie it up. But this time Dylan made no mistake in who scored, and he shot the length of the ice to "Ice it" for us. G Bye Dorchester better luck next year. Evan and Josh both ended up with "Gordie Howe" Hattricks .The boys played well together these OMHA games and I think we could've beat Lucan. Anyhow well played Midget Minors, well played!
