Petrolia Midget Minors sought redemption, and got it. At the hands of Forest AE's. The Minors started off fairly well, keeping the play in the Pred`s end. Little by little we started getting some chances with good forechecking. Then the Preds tested Matt a few times. But the boys with a little bit of perseverance, and a good forward pass from Dylan sprang Evan into the clear. And stepping into the clear Evan waited and went over the goalies glove hand for our first goal of the night. Then it was Ryan MacAlpine`s turn. Ryan skated in a alone and with a nice move slipped one around the Forest goalie. The boys then let Forest have a few chances at Matt Kuipers before Evan sent Doch Jr in to say hi to the Pred goalie. Chris with a little flair froze their goalie with a deft move and went five hole (someone remind me to get Chris some mustard). Paul Ferguson carried the puck well for us and helped get us some scoring chances as did Wyatt Card. Wyatt also showed some penalty killing abilities when asked as did Jaret and Ian proved their worth with defensiveness. Ian missed some golden scoring chances narrowly missing an open net. Evan finished off the scoring as Edward put Evan inside the opposing team`s blueline and Evan wasted no time punishing their goalie with a quick release shot from inside the blueline. The Forest goalie was clearly beat on the short side. We had to endure some deliberate attempts to hurt someone from the Preds. Our boys prevailed with dishing out some punishing hits of our own. Paul was able to even the score with his rival as he was decked then stood up for himself and leveled the Player that caused him some grief. Dylan and Hayden also stuck up for teammates and handed out some solid hits. Forest was able to score one on us in the third but we came out on top with a WIN. The Minors never gave up, some more work is needed to keep the wins coming! No major giveaways or struggling to get the puck out of our own end. Good game young fellas!
