Ridgetown 6 Petrolia 3, News, Midget Minor, U18, 2013-2014 (Petrolia Minor Hockey)

Our second Silver Stick match up against Ridgetown.

Midget Minors came out playing like it was their first game in the Tournament, but little by little we let this game slip away. We skated and passed well but failed to provide back up to our goalie and never hit in our own end. One Hiighlight was a Jaret Scarrow feed to Nick Friesen who buried it passed the Ridgetown goalie who was supposed to be a former triple a goalie. In the third period the boys were able to gain some pride, by out shooting and out hitting Ridgetown. Goals by Hayden Gould and Nick Friesen put us back in contention, but the clock running down proved our undoing.  Hayden Gould's hard hitting and go get em attitude earned him the MVP of the game. 
I feel our boys have proven they can play with anybody, as these were Rep hockey teams. Southwest Glencoe won Silver Stick and Omha last year and we took them to O.T. The Ridgetown game well if everyone played like they can and for sixty minutes....
