B Final Langton Tournament
The B final came just 2 hours after losing the 3rd round robin game vs Norwich.  The B final would see the Oilers match up against the host team Langton Leafs.

The team was not quite ready both physically or mentally prior to the puck drop and this resulted in giving up an early goal just 3 minutes into the first period as the Langton player ripped a wrist shot over the shoulder of netminder Kuipers.  Langton had just come off a fantastic game against Ridgetown that saw them beat the Rebels in an epic back and forth battle.

Being the 4th game in 2 days neither team had great legs early on.  The 1st period ended 1-0 for Langton.

The second period was very even and a hard hitting affair.  No additional scoring occured with Langton going into the 3rd with a 1 goal lead.  However it was evident that the Oilers were gaining momentum and coming to life as the second half of the period the Oilers were getting more and more scoring chances.

The 3rd period was all Oilers as they finally showed with some heart and determination could do.  Dawson Feenstra scored twice, Chris Docherty added a goal and Ryan Bell (being well rested from sitting the 14 minute penalty in the prior game scored on a shot from the point that was deflected.  Langton had no answer for the excellent attack and defense the Oilers presented.  The team won their first tournament game of the year and the B finals.

Both Matt Kuipers and Noah Smith played very well in the 4 games.
Excellent work guys.
