Langton Tournament - game #1 Ridgetown
The Minor Midget Oilers opened the Langton tournament with their first game against the Ridgetown Rebels.  The Rebels had just played Petrolia's Midget Rep team the previous week losing 6-3.

The 1st period was a very even period of play with the referee allowing the two teams to play hockey. The tempo was very good with many scoring chances for both teams. Ridgetown was awarded a goal at the end of the first period on an odd play where many spectators said the puck never crossed the line and the referee conferred with the linesmen. One linesman said the puck did not go in and the other did. Goal Ridgetown.

The second period the Oilers fell off the pace a bit and allowed 2 more goals. The 3rd period the Oilers picked things up and played a very good period of hockey. Ridgetown scored a last minute goal with 19 seconds left to gain the full point awarded for winning a period.

Not the best we have ever played but a solid effort.
