Silver Stick Champs!!!!
The Atom AE's played hard and worked together as a team should on Day 3 of South Huron Regional Silverstick and came away as Silverstick Champions going undefeated for the tournament.

The day started as an early one with the Oilers taking on the "Duck Dynasty" troupe from Ayr in the quarter finals.  Bailey Morrison started the day off with an early goal from Logan Harding, but Ayr came back to tie it up.  This proved to be their only goal though as they struggled to get another one past the Oilers.  Later in the 1st, Ethan Marks moved the Oilers ahead with a goal from Morrison.  The 2nd period proved to be scoreless as the teams battled back and forth, but early in the 3rd, Justin Oliver secured the game for the Oilers with a goal from Kolby Wilson ending in a 3-1 win.  Ryan Oliver played a great game in net for the Oilers, and Ethan Marks earned MVP for the game.

The Oilers then met up with the North Middlesex Jr. Stars in the semi-finals and easily skated away with a 6-2 win.  The 1st and 2nd periods saw the Oilers take an easy 5-0 lead with goals from Marks, Oliver (2), Harding and Austyn Gauld with assists to Carter Sayers, Harding, Peyton Wright, Colin Whiting, Wilson, Brady Melton, Jordan Morley, Oliver, Jayden Park and Brody Anderson.  The Stars attempted a comeback in the 3rd with 2 goals of their own, but couldn't get past the Oilers.  Oliver finished the game with a goal from Anderson to end in a 6-2 win for the Oilers.  Ryan Oliver and Wyatt Currie shared the goaltending duties for the Oilers and MVP of the game went to Peyton Wright.

The Oilers then found themselves up against rivals, Strathroy Rockets for the finals of the tournament.  The game proved to be rough on the Oilers and very intense, leaving several fans "voiceless", but the Oilers were able to complete what they came to South Huron to do and skated away as Silverstick Champions with a 6-3 win over the Rockets.  The Rockets started the scoring for the game with a goal in the 1st period, but the Oilers came back to tie it up with a goal from Hunter Carron off Melton.  Oliver added to the score in the 2nd period off Marks and Wright, but the Rockets battled back to leave the 2nd period in another tie.  The Rockets went ahead into the 3rd period, but the Oilers took advantage of a power play as Oliver again tied the score up off of Marks.  After that, the Oilers took off and the Rockets couldn't keep up.  Defenseman Rawson Donald moved the Oilers ahead with a great goal off of Morley and Marks.  Morrison scored next from Oliver and Marks and the final goal of the day went to Oliver from Wilson.  Ryan Oliver earned MVP honours of the game for his outstanding work in net.

The Atom AE boys played a great tournament, keeping a goal in mind and working strongly together as a team to reach it.  Each and every team member worked hard and contributed to this championship.  Thanks to the coaching staff for working "relentlessly" with our boys and showing them how it's done.  Thanks to the parents and fans for their support, their cheers and their dedication to this great group of kids.  And special thanks to Scott Watson for his words of support for our team.  GO OILERS!!!
