Silverstick 2010
Pee Wee AE have 3 close games @ Silverstick.

This years Pee Wee AE team traveled to Silverstick in Exeter this past weekend.  Their first game was against a solid Tavistock team.  The game remained scoreless until mid way through the 3rd period when Tavistock took advantage of the Oilers getting out of position.  Petrolia was unable to answer and lost 1-0.  The Oilers ended up with 2 of a possible 10 points in game number 1.

In game #2 the Oilers came out with some serious fire and battled the entire game in what could be said as their best effort of the season against a strong skating team from Lincoln.  This game ended in a tie 0 - 0 with both teams earning 5 points.  Petrolia ended the first day of competition with 7 points of a possible 20.

On day two Petrolia's fate was not yet decided before the puck dropped.  After 3 games Lincoln had 20 points, Tavistock had 10 points.  St Mary's had 13 going into the final pool C game vs Petrolia.  It was clear Petrolia needed to win 2 of three periods and the game to move on the Sunday round of play.

The Pee Wee AE team showed a strong effort but came up against a St. Mary's team who represents the top team in the Shamrock League.  Petrolia lost the first period 2-0, tied the second period 1-1, and tied the third period 0-0 for a 3-1 loss.

A very solid effort was put in by the players in games 2 and 3.  Special mention should be made to the goalies as their play was stellar.  The coaching staff believe with this kind of effort this team can compete and beat the majority of teams it will compete against.  GO OILERS
