Art Woodcock passed at 96 yrs. - Long Time PMHA Coach!
Submitted By cboyd on Sunday, January 13, 2013
I am sure many of you are too young to know this name but Art was a goalie in his younger years and a coach in Petrolia Minor Hockey. He was one of those coaches that everyone remembers with very fond memories. In the past 7 or 8 years he has got involved with the girls teams as well. He was a great help in picking out little pointers for the goalies. From 2006-2009, against our wishes, he would be running the penalty box Saturday nights during the girls games. He has been out to a few of the Senior Women's games this year on Sunday nights as well. He couldn't get enough hockey. His name was mentioned at the PMHA anniversary dinner as one of the greats and that he was.

He was 96 years old and was still curling, golfing and driving. He passed away last Saturday night just before midnight.  His granddaughter called and asked to let people know as his obituary will not be in the Petrolia Topic in time and won't likely be in the Observer until Saturday. They are hoping to have a visitation Monday Jan. 7th and funeral on Tuesday but this has not yet been finalized. He was a wonderful man that had a wonderful life. Please pass this on to anyone that may have known Art.
Thanks,
Mark and Stacey Dobbin
