Parading in P-Town!
Petrolia was alive on Friday Night, October 12, 2012 kicking off Minor Hockey's 50th year celebrations. Over 200 hockey kids and a total of 12 floats including 18 teams, lead by the Squires team, rolled through town in colour and chorus. "Best Overall" float was awarded to the Novice House League Grey Team, sponsored by MacFarlane Chevrolet Buick GMC (coached by Ace Hudson and Bill Reid). They won a pizza party donation from God Father's Pizza, and were present that evening for the Squires Game "Puck Drop". Our little "Team Tykes" sponsored by MacFarlane's, Needham Jay Fueral Home and Brigden Optimists (coached by Ryan Joy, Tom Valiquette, Derek Webster) won for the "Most Colour Creative" float and enjoyed treats that were created and generously donated by Isn't Life Sweet.
The "Most Nostalgic" award was given to the Pee Wee AE team sponsored by Scotia Bank (coached by Scott Watson) with prize donations from Crabby Joes. Thanks to all that participated. It was a great show of team work and spectacular spirit!!
