Junior Volunteer of the Year Award!
Submitted By cboyd on Friday, April 27, 2012
Congratulations to Connor Clark for receiving the Junior Volunteer Of the Year Murdie Souch Award!

Connor Clark is in Grade 9 at LCCVI and volunteered his time with the Atom AE team this year.  His level of committment went above showing up to earn Community Involvement Hrs for his Secondary School requirement.  Connor was an active participant at practices, provided our players with positive feedback and encouragement as well as taking time to get to know the kids.

Connor made an effort to talk to the kids and provided feedback to the kids throughout the season - stating how he saw improvement.  The kids on our team felt that Connor was a part of our coaching staff, which was solidified when Connor would show up for home games and even made the effort to go to one of our away games in Ilderton.  The kids were amazed to see Connor in the dressing room for the before and after game pep talks.

Connor did not play hockey this year, but stated he missed it and wanted to give back to the community in which he played hockey.  His level of determination and enthusiasm was impressive.

This level of committment deserves to be recognized and encouraged.  I would provide Connor a recommendation/reference without hesitation in the future.  As stated earlier, the most impressive thing was the way in which he connected to the players.

Connor is a deserving member of our community that has put forth the time, energy and effort to be recognized for his contributions to our hockey team and the continued development of PMHA.
