Minor Midgets - OMHA CHAMPS!
It was a very exciting game 5 for all at the Greenwood Rec Center Saturday Night in Petrolia. Bracebridge started off the game with a goal at the 1:48 mark of the first period from Jack Smith and an assist from Jack Hopkins that kind of woke the Petrolia team being down by 1. Luke Kabbes rose to the occasion at the 4:20 mark of the first period with a pass from BJ Klompstra and Eric Lupton as he was moved up from defense to help out the forwards as we knew it would not be easy holding off a tough come back team like the Bears. Again, Luke Kabbes tagged his second of the game with a pass from Cale Hunter and Jed Gould. The game stayed 2-1 for some time which made it very nerve racking until Brandon Li took a pass from Mitch Wilson and Luke Kabbes at the 5:17 mark of the third to put the game in reach for our tired Petrolia team.
Brandon Li then sealed the deal with an empty net goal at the 25 second mark to take a commanding 4-1 lead and coast to victory! At this time I would like to Congratulate our coaching staff for a well deserved OMHA Championship as we have some players on our team this year that have never won a tournament let alone a Trophy as nice as this. Enjoy this moment boys, we are all very proud of you!
