Attention any and potential bench staff who need to obtain there D1 Coaches Certification or those whose credentials have expired and need to take a D1 clinic so they will be valid for the upcoming season
Petrolia will be hosting a D1 Coaches Clinic this year. This is a one-day clinic that will be held on Saturday October 22nd, 2022from 7:30AM – 5PM (7:30am-3pm Class Room & 3pm -5pm On Ice Session).
You must sign up through the Hockey Canada Website @ HCR 3.0 - Hockey Canada Registry (https://register.hockey canada.ca/clinics). The cost of this course is $150.00 plus taxes.
Prior to signing up for this course you must complete the following 2 prerequisites:
1. Specialty Skills - *HU – Online Checking. This course is recorded and on-demand (prerecorded) so it is available any time to complete prior to registering for the D1 Clinic. Cost of this clinic is $18.00 plus tax.
Note: If you have previously completed the *HU – ONLINE Checking course you are not required to take it again.
2. Coach – Coach Professional Development - Making Ethical Decisions – Hockey. This one is the most important in that it a live course the MUST be completed in register for the D1 Clinic. There are currently 3 available before the October 22nd clinic. They are all on Tuesday Sept 27th from 6:30pm – 9:00pm. These courses fill up fast and again as a reminder you will not be able to sign up for a D1 clinic unless this is completed prior to. This course will cost $10.00 plus taxes.
Courses Required regardless of Coaching Level – these courses need to be completed prior to being on the bench as a head coach or a bench staff regardless of the age group.
• General – Gender Identity and Expression Course. This course is recorded and on-demand, so it is available any time to complete prior to registering for the D1 Clinic. Cost of this course is $0.00. Note: If you have previously completed Gender Identity Training through Hockey Canada you are not required to take it again.
• Respect in Sport which can be completed by following the link: Respect in Sport for Hockey Canada Activity Leaders - Getting Started (respectgroupinc.com)
• Rowan’s Law Resource Review & Acknowledgement - which will be supplied by PMHA at Coaches / Manager Meeting on Oct 4th.
There are other clinics being offered for OMHA centers but are a fair distance away. If you are putting in for a team or if your ant to help with a team on the bench this year it is up to you to ensure your credentials are valid.
