A Fight to the very End
The Atom AE Oilers hosted the St. Marys Rock on Sunday in a game that proved to be the most exciting game yet of the season. Despite working hard and never giving up, the Oilers fell just short of a victory and lost 4-3 to the Rock.
St. Marys came out strong at the onset of the game and were winning 3-0 going into the 3rd period. But a goal by Hunter Carron got the team revved up and they came on strong, firing shot after shot at the St. Mary's goalie. Justin Oliver was successful getting two more goals past the goalie, including one from the face-off, but St. Mary's came back with a goal of their own to finish the game 4-3. Outstanding plays, passes and rebound shots saw the St. Mary's goalie practically stand on his head to stop 29 shots from the Oilers compared to the 9 sent our way.
The Atom AE's continue their quest to remain at the top of the league standings.
