Schedule & Results, Bantam AE, U15, 2011-2012 (Petrolia Minor Hockey)

In the 4th game of this OMHA series in the second round Petrolia found themselves with their back to the wall as there was no room for error.  Win or go packing for the Shamrock league playoffs.

The coaching staff challenged the team to come out and play top hockey.  The kids played the best 1st period they have played all season, dominating the play, getting numerous scoring chances, outplaying Strathroy in every facet of the game except one.  Strathroy scored on a long dump in that slipped through net-minder Cameron MacAlpine.  Later in the period Cameron dumped the puck up while Petrolia was on the power play to Kale Morton.  Kale lifted the defender's stick and walked in shooting the puck into the net via the 5 hole.

Strathroy truly had all the bounces in this game as the next goal was a bank in shot that was going wide of the net but caught a d-man shin pad and went directly into the net.

The 3rd and 4th goals were from solid efforts down low to get a loose pucks by Strathroy and wingers losing their deffensive assignment, as the D-Man moved into the hash mark area and slammed home one timers.

The final goal was an open net goal in the last minute of play.

Guys this is a tough loss considering for long periods we were the better team.  Hold your heads high.  We game Strathroy a serious run and by playing a good team like this we will roll into league playoffs with some momentum.  Let's go win the Shamrock league playoffs.
