Schedule & Results, Bantam AE, U15, 2011-2012 (Petrolia Minor Hockey)

In the second game of the OMHA series the Oilers came out a little flat and the Rockets came out flying.  The rockets controlled the majority of the play and had many scoring chances in the first 2 periods.  The Oilers struggled getting the physical game going and found themselves down 2-0 going into the dressing room after 2 periods.

The coaching staff urged the team on to come out and play with top effort in the third period.  The first few shifts looked to more of the same with Petrolia having difficulty getting any kind of momentum and scoring chances as Strathroy held the Oilers hemmed in their own end for long periods of time.

The Oilers finally came alive and scored to make it 2-1 about mid way through the period.  Then the team got fired up and it was all Oilers for the remainder of the game.  The Oilers pulled their goalie to gain the extra attacker and this provided a glorious scoring chance in the last seconds of the game.  The Strathroy net-minder robbed the Oilers of at least 3 sure goals on this night and would definitely been the games first star.

The series was now tied and Strathroy regained the home ice advantage.
