Schedule & Results, Bantam AE, U15, 2011-2012 (Petrolia Minor Hockey)

The Oilers rolled into Mooretown with a 2 game lead in the best of 5 series needing just a win to finish things out and go into the second round of the OMHA playdowns.

The coaching staff reminded the team prior to the game to keep their composure, be physical, and win the battles.

After a long warmup the first period started with Mooretown scoring in the first minute of play.  Not exactly how things were drawn up prior to the start of the game.  However in the first game of the series the same thing happened with Mooretown taking a early lead and the Oilers responding with 8 unanswered goals in that game.

This game saw the Oilers quickly get back in the game and then dominate the Storm as Petrolia scored 6 times in the first period.

The second period saw a lot of questionable penalties with Petrolia spending a lot of time shorthanded.  The Oilers for the most part did an excellent job on the penalty kill, however Mooretown did score once on the power play.  The score was 7-2 at the end of the second.

The 3rd period saw more dominations and a turn for the bizzare as the game became very chippy.  Mooretown had 2 players ejected and a fan.  Thankfully the Oilers kept their heads and played a cool brand of hockey just getting the game over with.

Great job guys on working hard and winning the 1st round of the OMHA playdowns.  We are waiting fo either Dorchester or Strathroy in the next round.
