Petrolia 5 St Thomas 4
Solid team effort.

Nights like this the Midget Minors make it so easy to write these articles. Not one player stood out more than anyone else.
We came out flying keeping the puck in their end. But St Thomas could skate, they seem to have gotten better since the start of the year. They showed up tonight with only ten skaters, but a little extra effort on their part put them ahead of us one to nothing. Then before they could mark the score Jaret put us on the scoreboard with a nice shot over the St Thomas goalie from a perfect pass from Ian. The game see sawed back and forth til St Thomas scored then exactly right after that Chris skated into their end and when Evan caught up to the play Chris feathered a nice pass to Evan who deftly beat the St Thomas netminder. St Thomas scored a nice one as the center fed the defence a nice pass who shot thru a screen. But after some play Ryan MacAlpine who had some scoring chances earlier roofed one from Jakob and Wyatt who worked hard to keep the play in. Then Evan scored on a nice backhander on a beauty of a pass from Dylan who got it from Chris (doing some nice forechecking of his own to keep the puck in their end. Paul started skating well with the puck and got some nice chances but to no avail. Paul, Edward kept the play out of our end with some nice checks. Hayden did well getting the puck out as well. Now it was time to finish these guys off and so after some nicely blocked shots from Ian and Wyatt Paul was sprung free and skated around the opposing players and worked hard getting the puck on net and Ryan MacAlpine ended the play shoveling the puck under their goalie. Plenty of breakaways Nick Friesen had everybody out of their seats (all thirteen of us) as he went bar down as the boys call it. Jakob Friesen and Ryan MacAlpine had plenty of chances as did Jaret and Ian. Jaret went in alone had the goalie beat but somehow couldn't finish. Then it was time for more shot blocks and solid hits from Ed and Ryan Bell as Ryan took one for the team. Jakob and Nick kept getting the puck out and Noah shut the door with some nice saves. Like I said a good team effort, our sons should be proud of themselves coming together finding ways to score then to pull together defensively. If I left your name off of here I'm sorry you all should be on here for your play. Nice Win fellas!
