Oilers Drop Game 2 in Mt. Brydges 3 to1
The Novice Oilers face elimination From OMHA Playdowns on Tuesday night after another close tilt with Mt. Brydges falling 3 to 1 before a family day crowd at the Tri County Barn in Mt. Brydges.

The Oilers were coming off a busy weekend of games in the Motown Cup, playing 5 games in 2 and 1/2 days then having to play back to back playoff games on successive nights  The challenge was stiff and the Oilers battled hard but fatigue and sickness was starting to take its toll.
Oilers goalie Kento Gudz came down ill and forced centreman Phoenix Timmington to don the pads on an emergency basis. Phoenix did a great job under tough circumstances.

Mt Brydges scored 2 goals before the Oilers responded.  Jace McGrail broke in over the blueline and spotted a streaking Reid King and fed a tape to tape pass which King made no mistake burying the biscuit in the corner of the net to make it 2 to 1.  Mt. Brydges scored another one late and ghe Oilers could not get the puck past the bigger, faster Mt. Brydges players.  Final score 3 to 1.  Mt. Brydges leads the series 2 games to none with game 3 in Petrolia Tuesday night.

One more chance tomorrow to get a win against this tough squad.  After7 tries, the Oilers have come up empty each time with all games being 3to1 or 3to2.  Keep trying boys.

Phoenix Timmington was selected player of game for stepping up to be goalie in a pinch.
