NOVICES HAVE FUN AT STING VS KNIGHTS GAME
Twenty Novice hockey players from the Rep and Tri County Teams had the thrill of playing on the home ice of the Sarnia Sting Thursday night.

Players from both Rep and Tri County Teams were split into two teams and played a fun game complete with penalty shots and a full team shootout.  Following the game, players were invited to sit on the Sting bench during warm ups and got to high five and chat with some of the players before they squared off against the powerhouse London Knights.

Although the Sting vs Knights game was not as exciting as games in the past the kids and families appeared to have a lot of fun and many trips to the candy counter were made.

On a side note, there was apparently a minor assault of the Sting mascot 'Buzz' by a certain Oiler player who was severely impaired by sugar. Eyewitnesses report, a young boy wailing away on the mascot's head with a bag of popcorn. Names are being withheld to protect his parent's identity. Children's Aid is investigating.

Last report, Buzz was resting comfortably but needs to be awakened every hour to prevent complications from the repetitive blows to the head.

The Knights won the game 4-1 after trailing 1-0  after one period of play.

(the aforementioned account of the incident in question is for humor only, nobody was injured and children's aid was not called....do not start the rumour mill...it is a joke...hahahah)

The Oilers now prepare for games vs St. Mary's and West Lorne.
