NOVICES LOOKING FORWARD TO ADRIAN COLLEGE TRIP
On November 29, 30, Dec 1 weekend , The Novice Rep Oilers will be heading to Adrian, Michigan for a College Hockey Trip.
Former Petrolia Minor Hockey product Jeremy Symington is currently employed at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. Symington a former goalie who worked his way up the ranks through Petrolia Minor Hockey, AAA LAmbton Lightning then on to star with the Junior B Petrolia Jets. He earned a scholarship to St. Lawrence University in New York State and was later drafted by the Islanders. Although he never made it to the NHL he played several years of Pro hockey in various leagues in the USA.
Symington works at Adrian College and is managing the athletic facilities, serves as goalie coach for the Varsity College Team. The Head Coach of the Bulldogs College Team is former Sarnia BEES star RON FOGARTY.
The weekend is shaping up to be a fun one for the kids and families alike. The Novice Oilers will play the AA u8 Team Toledo in nearby Toledo Ohio on Saturday then return to Adrian in the afternoon and have the opportunity to take in an NCAA Basketball game and/or a campus tour. Then at 7pm The Oilers will be attending the Adrian Bulldogs College Hockey Game, performing shootout skills during intermission then skating with the whole team after the game.
Sunday sees Team Toledo visit the Oilers at Arrington Arena on Adrian College Campus for a rematch. The game will be followed by a 2nd Bulldogs Hockey Game and intermission fun.
