Novices Skunk the Rebels from Ridgetown
The Ridgetown Rebels paid a visit to the Greenwood Rec Centre on Saturday to face the high powered Oilers and were handed a 12-0 defeat.

In a game that could have easily been much higher, the Ridgetown Rebels goalie stood on his head and made over 50 saves to keep his team close in each period.  The Oilers came out flying and were focused on trying to play hard each and every shift, pay attention to picking up the 'trailer' on backchecks, and having 2 players on the puck at all times.
Scoring once again was a balanced effort with 8 different players scoring goals.  A highlight in today's game was 3 of 4 defensemen scored goals and players were starting to use D to D passes and generated a lot of shots from the blueline.

Scoring for the Oilers were; William Hull (2), Jace McGrail (2), Brady Busby-McEachen (2), Shane Knight (2) and Noel Sanderson, Reed Douglas, Miller Mailloux, and Maxim Egan added single markers.  Assists went to Zach Wilson(2), Pheonix Timmington (2), Jace McGrail (2), Reed Douglas and Brady Busby-McEachen.

Kento was not busy during the game but stopped a brekaway late in the game to preserve the shutout.

Today's game allowed some players to move to different positions and others to try forward and other to go back to Defense.  This will be important later in the season when we need to move players around to better challenge certain teams, or when injuries and penalties dictate changes to be made.

Great Job Oilers... and Congrats to Max and Brady for netting their first goals of the season today.

We now prepare for another busy week with practice Sunday, and games Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
