Glencoe Tournament
November 27 and 28

Tri County Pee Wee played in Glencoe for their first tournament. Coach Napper was away but in his place, his loyal bench staff - Troy Van Belle and Jason Morley took over the team.

First Game
Petrolia lost 5-0 to Glencoe. It was not an easy game. Before the boys hit the ice for the second game - the coaching staff put together strategies to neutralize our weaknesses and enhance our strengths; lines were changed and some heavy talking was had with the boys. The Oilers were facing the strongest team in the tournament - Strathroy Blue, next game.

Second Game
The most exciting game of the season! Parents and fans were on the edge of their seats. All the Oilers players were checking and winning the race to the puck. Strathroy Blue backed away from the Oilers while Oilers continued to push them off the puck. Ethan "Killer" Kilbreath scored within the first minute of the first period of play. The crowd went wild! The Oilers played fantastic and kept the lead for most of the game. The score was tied 2 -2 by the end of the third period. The Petrolia Tri County Pee Wees had turned a corner. Parents could hear the Petrolia players cheering each other on - Cole "Coleslaw" had lost his voice by the end of the game.

Consolation Game
Petrolia faced Glencoe again! - this time the Oilers had renewed confidence, new lines and new strategies.  Noah "Other Side" Van Belle started the excitement when he scored the first goal of the game at the end of the second period.  It was a close game! Charlie "Tuna" Pakalanis played amazing between the posts and the Petrolia team hussled and checked their opponents with a new found excitement. Petrolia was a different team then yesterday when Glencoe played them. A few bad bounces for the Oilers and a few good bounces for Glencoe ended the game 3-1 for Glencoe.

What a weekend!
