President 2012-2013 - Chris Fryfogle
What a privilege it is to be president for PMHA during the 50th anniversary season. Many famous names have entered our barn over the years. Petrolia has produced the likes of the Hunter brothers, the Verbeek boys, along with Bob Gould, Jon Van Boxmeer, Brian Dobbin, Tood Bidner all who have stepped on the ice at the NHL level. PMHA has produced many OHL and Jr. players which goes along way in showing our system produces great hockey players. With so many of our players playing at the AAA and A/AA levels it shows that over the years PMHA has done something right.
We have many things going on for our 50th anniversary weekend, we have the parade Friday night, along with the squires game against Goderich. WE have many activities as well as the home show going on Saturday. The Matt Duchene skills carnival will be a blast for the kids. There will be snacks, and cake for all PMHA players throughout the weekend in the tent that will be set up outside of the arena. We will be haveing a celebratory 50th dinner and dance Saturday night, with the dinner having guest speaker Bob Gould. Dance will feature Rumblefish, should be an excellent time please check website for ticket information.
There's been countless hours spent on this weekend headed by Charlotte Boyd. She's done an amazing job, along with everyone else who has volunteered to help her out.
Moving forward as an executive we are fortunate to have so many good people on the board this year. Many thanks go out to past executives and especially Gary Dupe for his countless hours and dedication when the money scandal was happening. Gary done an amazing job, for him to step up at that time was extremely difficult and PMHA owes allot to him for righting the ship and getting us pointed in the right direction. We are sound financially now, which we owe to Gary, THANKS!
We have had a checking clinic this year which we had a good turnout. We plan on having PD day clinic's like Shooting, stick handling, checking and a goalie clinic if we can get it all arranged. WE are also working on some coach's stuff hopefully we have something in place shortly for everything.
Last but not least, please bare with everyone on the executive some of us are new to our positions and learning. Sometimes it's hard to remember we're volunteers. I will be posting on here form time to time, please feel free to talk to me or any member of the executive.
All the best to all teams in our 50th anniversary year!
For the Love of the Game!
