Food For Thought
Kasey Dennis is a rarity among minor hockey parents, not because she loses her temper, but because she admits it. “It’s the adrenalin,” says Dennis, whose nine-year-old son, Evan, plays for the Winter Hawks, a minor atom AA team from Innisfil, Ont. “It’s a team sport. You want them to win. You get caught up in the moment, and I’m the type of person who doesn’t take stuff sitting down.” She recalls an incident last season that brought her as close as she’s been to physical confrontation at a children’s sporting event. The Hawks were playing a tournament game in Richmond Hill, Ont. She could hear parents of players on the opposing team calling to their youngsters. “Take ’em out!” they were saying......

Respect in Sport Fair Play Code is a very important document to all parents, players, coaches, organizations, etc. This year is the first that Petrolia Minor Hockey required at least one parent from each family complete this online training in order for their child(ren) to take part in minor hockey. OWHA to Parents - Stay Off Network 54
No idea what Network 54 is? Well this blog is truly a negative, highly criticized, bully promotion tool that many parents across Ontario have taken to reading, posting, gossiping about and the Ontario Women's Hockey Association has taken a strong stand and issues this statement to parents - "STAY OFF NETWORK 54". If you haven't gone there - don't, if you are there - stop, this site is truly parents bullying other parents, coaches, kids, organizations, etc. and this is a terrible way to show our girls and boys to act. Far too many kids and their families in particular have been hurt but the garbage that is posted here. Just my opinion...
