Novice Rep Wins Second Tourney!
Submitted By cboyd on Tuesday, November 20, 2012
The Novice Reps bring home the cup from the Blenheim Blades of Steel Tournament, over the weekend. They came out of the round robin with, 1 win against  Dunnville Flyers  2-0, 1 tie against the Mount Brydges Cougars 1-1, and a 8-4 loss against the hosts Blenheim. In the semi finals against Mount Brydges the Oilers come out strong with a 6-3 win.

In the finals, Petrolia had to battle the undefeated (all season, not just tournament) Blenheim once again. It was a nail bitter, edge of your seat game. After regulation play, the Oilers were tied at 3, then they battled through a 4 on 4 overtime and stilled remained tied. During the the shoot out, Andrew Jaques, Hugh Graham and Noah Harse brought us to a sweet victory of 4-3.

Both the Novice Tri-County and Novice Rep teams participated in a goalie skills competition and Petrolia won both divisions --- Caven Guthrie for the Novice Tri-County and Ryan Oliver for the Novice Rep. Honourable mention to Hugh Graham who competed in the fastest forward skater. This team has come a long way from the start of the season. They have amazed all their coaches, parents and loyal fans. On to silverstick in December!
