Novice Rep Wins Second Tourney!
The Novice Reps bring home the cup from the Blenheim Blades of Steel Tournament, over the weekend. They came out of the round robin with, 1 win against Dunnville Flyers 2-0, 1 tie against the Mount Brydges Cougars 1-1, and a 8-4 loss against the hosts Blenheim. In the semi finals against Mount Brydges the Oilers come out strong with a 6-3 win.
In the finals, Petrolia had to battle the undefeated (all season, not just tournament) Blenheim once again. It was a nail bitter, edge of your seat game. After regulation play, the Oilers were tied at 3, then they battled through a 4 on 4 overtime and stilled remained tied. During the the shoot out, Andrew Jaques, Hugh Graham and Noah Harse brought us to a sweet victory of 4-3.
Both the Novice Tri-County and Novice Rep teams participated in a goalie skills
competition and Petrolia won both divisions --- Caven Guthrie for the Novice
Tri-County and Ryan Oliver for the Novice Rep. Honourable mention to Hugh Graham who competed in the fastest forward skater. This team has come a long way from the start of the season. They have amazed all their coaches, parents and loyal fans. On to silverstick in December!
