Zero Tolerance
If you may remember, at the end of last season there were numerous problems with house league and travel coaches and players verbally abusing officials during and after games. I asked each of the supervisors to talk to all officials and implement a zero tolerance initiative at that time. This basically means if a coach / player abuses a referee or swears at all during the game he will be given a game misconduct immediately. This same zero tolerance level will be adopted again this season and I ask that you please let all officials and players know this. There is no room at all in hockey for this type of abuse and we will take steps to ensure this is being complied with.
Please convey this to all your coaches and players ASAP so they are aware of the zero tolerance. All we want to do is make the game of hockey enjoyable for all participants.
