NOVICE BLUE WIN SILVER IN PT. HURON TOURNAMENT
After a slow start against a very strong and very BIG team from Dorchester and a 2-1 loss against Pt. Huron, the Novice Blue team came back in the 3rd game to beat Bluewater 8-2. The semi-final game against Mt. Clemens proved to be a nail biter as the team was down 4-2 (goals by Brady Melton and Ethan Marks; assists by Reed Douglas and Hunter Carron), but with just 1:41 left in the final period, Petrolia came back with 4 goals (Ethan Marks –2; Peyton Wright –2; assists by Jace McGrail and Hunter Carron) to win the game 6-4. The team then met up with the powerhouse Dorchester team to finish with a silver medal. The team played strong and well together and were assisted by outstanding goaltending by Ryan Oliver.
The Novice Blue team includes Peyton Wright, Ethan Marks, Hunter Carron, Austyn Gauld, Tessie Lambert, Wyatt Currie and Ryan Oliver. A special thanks to recruited players Brady Melton and Gavin Carron as well as our AP Tyke players Will Hull, Jace McGrail, and Reed Douglas. Coaches are Jason Wright, Dan Carron and Jason Eves.
