LCCVI GIRLS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT CHAMPS!

Congratulations to the LCCVI (mostly Midget Oilers) Girls Hockey Team who travelled to Windsor Monday(19th) and Tuesday(20th) to compete in the Southwestern Hockey Classic Tournament. The girls finished first in pool play with a 2-0 victory over Villanova, a 3-0 victory over St. Joes and a 1-1 tie with Holy Names. In Semi-Final action, the girls faced a tough team from Sandwich and came out victoriious with a 1-0 win. In the finals, the girls faced a strong team from Windsor St. Annes and came up with a huge win to become tournament champions. Amelia Maniuk and Whitney Simpson were outstanding in net allowing only one goal throughout the tournament. Jillian Rops led the team in points with 3 goals and 1 assist. Darian Limb scored 3 goals.
McKayla Eves and MacKenzie Sleaford had a goal and an assist each. Danielle Campbell had 2 goals and Jenna Bolton, Julia Lupton and Jennifer Zavitz each picked up an assist. Congratulations girls! Your coaches, school and community are very proud of your accomplishments!
